David Ornstein says Tottenham have received a latenight offer for their ‘dynamite’ player

David Ornstein has revealed that Sevilla have made an offer to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz on loan until the end of the season.

Spurs were busy at work last night, picking up a fantastic 32 win over Brentford. Neal Maupay made all the headlines in that game, but ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline, there are things happening in the background at Tottenham. Veliz’s shortterm future is up in the air.

Sevilla make loan offer to sign Tottenham’s Alejo Veliz

Tottenham signed Alejo Veliz last summer from Rosario Central in a £13 million deal (BBC).

The Argentine is a fine talent. He was always viewed as one for the future and wasn’t even expected to play in the first half of the season.

However, Ange Postecoglou has used him eight times in the Premier League already – all as a substitute – and Veliz has scored once so far.

The 20yearold is currently out injured, but David Ornstein has claimed that Sevilla are keen to sign him today before the 11:00 pm deadline.

The Spanish giants are said to have made an offer last night – a straight loan deal with no option to make that permanent in the summer.

Tottenham are yet to respond to that offer. Ornstein says a decision on Veliz’s future will be made at some point today.

Ornstein tweeted late last night: “EXCL: Tottenham have tonight received offer from Sevilla to sign Alejo Veliz.

“Proposal for 20yo Argentina youth striker a straight loan, no option to buy. THFC will make decision on Deadline Day whether to sanction Sevilla FC move or not.”

Veliz, branded as a ‘dynamite‘ player, signed a longterm contract at Tottenham last summer and his deal does not expire until the end of the 2028/29 season.
